The cover of this book (according to this dictionary) means "Color Book Word Squeeze". I am sure something is lost in translation, however, I am also sure that each page represents a color and it is in fact a book and it does have words. Squeeze....leaves me hanging a bit.
I'm not exactly sure what the next pages say. This is a very basic dictionary and either the board book is too advanced for me or the Vietnamese Dictionary feels it is too advanced for children's books. Either way, the words aren't all in there and the picture of the pink flamingos on a blue water background gets a bit more confusing when you think it reads "Classified/One's Child Young Lady/Aunt"... I may need to wait for better language instruction.
I did download some podcasts on learning Vietnamese and will work with them on a road trip that is coming up in the next week or so. I am curious what tools others have used to learn Vietnamese. Has anyone used Rosetta Stone? Taken classes? Language tapes? What is most helpful? Oh, and if anyone can translate the book title correctly for me, please do!

Good luck!
We went to our library and checked out the all the language cds that they had before our road trip last summer. I think the one we used the most was Pimsleur's? Not sure. Obviously we haven't kept up with it like we should=) Anyways, if your library has any, it is a good idea to check them out and decide which ones you like before making the commitment to buy something.
A funny sidenote: at one point on our trip we were so intently focused on the cds that we didn't realize we were more than 40 miles past our exit! Rather than backtrack, we attempted to take a shortcut and got lost on some Virginia backroads. Good times=)
Good luck!
Oh, and if you figure out the board book, let me know-- we have the same one!
Just found your blog. Best of luck in your journey!!!

We looked into Rosetta Stone but it's quite expensive (right now with all the other expenses). We are looking at some free programs now, haven't come across any good podcasts, just one that had one phrase a day- have you? I'm going to check the library soon.
Hi
I am from VN, the title of that book means Varieties Colors of Animals. The Vietnamese language is tonal language, has 6 tones, which means the word may have 5-6 different meanings, also, has 3 different accents of the Northern, Central, Southern VN. Good luck on your search.

This online gloss is pretty easy when I get stuck.
